Viki Stamati transferred to hospital after overdose
The wife of former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos, in custody over bribery allegations, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after taking an overdose of sleeping pills.
Viki Stamati, who is being detained in the women?s wing of Korydallos Prison on suspicion of colluding with her husband, informed her guards that she had taken five pills and was not feeling well.
She was transferred to the Thriassio Hospital, where her stomach was pumped, despite her protestations.
Stamati remained at the hospital on Monday.
Prison sources said Stamatis has been displaying unusual behavior for the last two weeks.
