Firefighters battle blazes on Evia

Firefighting forces were battling a large blaze in Mesohoria in the area of Aliveri on Evia on Saturday. Meanwhile, fires in Xirokambi, in Laconia in the Peloponnese, and Mesopotamos in Preveza, northwestern Greece, were brought under control on the same day.
