Parliament rules to lift MP’s immunity
A parliamentary committee voted in favor of lifting the parliamentary immunity of former minister and New Democracy deputy Dora Bakoyannis on Wednesday.
Bakoyannis sought the immunity lift in order to clarify her involvement in a case regarding a controversial financial transaction made by her husband, Isidoros Kouvelos.
Kouvelos is to face felony charges with regard to the deposit of one million dollars in a foreign bank account. He is being accused of not declaring the amount on the source of wealth form (pothen esches).
