FinMin employee suspected of leaking details on millions of Greeks

Authorities believe that a Finance Ministry employee may have leaked the personal details of 9 million Greeks, which were found in the possession of a 35-year-old employee of an online marketing company, who faced a magistrate on Friday.

The suspect, who was not named, said he was given the information by an employee at a private company but authorities said that the data did not appear to be the product of hacking but had been taken directly from the online Taxis and Elenxis systems, which points to the involvement of an official with access to these systems.
