Elderly sisters found murdered in Xanthi home
Two elderly sisters were found murdered in their home in the village of Komnina, near Xanthi in northeastern Greece, on Thursday.
Police said the women, aged 72 and 80, were beaten with a heavy object, possible an ax or a hammer.
Officers said a window had been broken and that the assailant or assailants appeared to have been looking for cash or valuables.
The sisters had moved back to the village from Athens seven years ago, locals said.
