Unexploded WWII mine deactivated in port of Kyllini

An unexploded World War II naval mine found near the port of Kyllini, western Greece, has been deactivated.

The mine was first spotted in the sea on Thursday before it disappeared for two days during which the port remained closed.

The disposal operation was successfully completed by members of the navy’s underwater demolitions command on Saturday.
