Construction magnate arrested again

Construction magnate Babis Vovos was on Friday arrested for the second time in three months in connection with the non-timely payment of 168,950 euros in social security contributions.

The 80-year-old businessman had been arrested last November for alleged debts to the state of just over 1 million euros. He had been given conditional release after testifying before an investigative magistrate.

Vovos’ company had filed for protection from its creditors but a first instance court rejected the appeal.
