Two shot, one beaten, on Crete
Police in Rethymno, Crete, over the weekend were investigating the shooting of two people by a 30-year-old man who allegedly took offense when questioned over comments made at a young woman.
The 30-year-old shot and injured a man aged 50 and a woman aged 47, relatives of the unnamed girl, when they demanded explanations from him.
In a separate incident in Iraklio, also on Crete, a 46-year-old man was being questioned on Saturday in regards to allegations that he severely beat a 16-year-old.
The reasons behind the attack were not immediately known, while police officers who conducted a search of the 46-year-old’s residence discovered a double-barrelled shotgun and six hunting rifles, among other findings.
