Nursing student stabbed to death in Thesprotia; perpetrator arrested

A nursing student, aged 20, was stabbed to death in the rural town of Filiata in Thesprotia, northwestern Greece, by a 25-year-livestock farmer who fled the scene of the crime but was arrested later in the day.

According to reports, the 25-year-old man stabbed the young woman repeatedly in the throat after they got into an argument outside a cafe at midday on Wednesday, in front of dozens of witnesses from a local high school.

She died en route to hospital.
