No ferry services on Tuesday in Greece as union protests draft law

There will be no ferry services in Greece on Tuesday as sailors have decided to go on strike to protest a multi-bill submitted to Parliament by the Merchant Marine Ministry.

Port workers have also called work stoppages for Tuesday. The strike will begin at 6 a.m. and is due to run for 24 hours.

Sailors’ unions say the proposed legislation will make seamen’s jobs less secure.

The unions said they would also be holding protests on May 1.
