Police question 62-year-old for elderly woman’s death in Florina
Police over the weekend were questioning a 62-year-old man in connection with the death of 81-year-old woman on Friday in Florina, northern Greece.
The elderly lady’s body was discovered by firefighters putting out a blaze in her home. An autopsy revealed foul play, leading police to question neighbors who said that the suspect had quarrelled with the elderly woman.
Investigators believe he struck her on the head with a piece of firewood and subsequently set fire to a pile of bed linen found beside her in an attempt to eliminate evidence of the crime.
