Financial Police has taken on over 5,000 cases since 2011, says minister
The Financial Police, set up in July 2011, has handled more than 5,000 cases until now, Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias told Parliament on Monday.
The Financial Police also handles electronic crime, including matters relating to child pornography, Dendias assured MPs who were concerned that such issues were being overlooked since the electronic crimes department was shut down.
He said that the Financial Police have brought charges against suspects in 230 child pornography cases since 2011.
