Twenty suspected tax evaders collared in northeastern Attica
A police crackdown on Thursday resulted in the arrest of 20 suspected tax evaders in northeastern Attica, owing millions of euros to the state.
The largest unpaid tax bill, worth 2 million euros, is attributed to the 74-year-old managing director of an company in the northern Athens suburb of Kifissia.
The head of another company, MD in Holargos, northeastern Athens, was detained over a 982,290-euro tax bill.
The other 18 suspects were arrested for unpaid tax bills from 43,000 euros upward.
