Riot police detain about 20 students at Athens University protest
About 20 students were detained at Athens University on Monday morning after riot police intervened to break up a protest outside the rector’s office.
Leftist student groups were protesting about university-related matters when the riot police arrived.
Officers made limited use of chemicals and led away more than a dozen students. University staff suggested that the police had overreacted to the protest.
