Papandreou hits back, criticizing Karamanlis and EU partners
Ex-Prime Minister George Papandreou on Wednesday made his second public statement in quick succession after a long period away from the public debate.
The former PASOK leader used the opportunity to criticize his predecessor as prime minister, Costas Karamanlis, and accused his government of being “irresponsible” and “criminal” for allowing Greece’s public finances to get out of control.
Papandreou also slammed Greece’s European partners for being indecisive and not providing the country with the time and support it needed to carry out reforms.
