Two Albanian fugitives killed by police were shot ‘at least 20 times’ each
Two Albanian fugitives who were killed in a shootout with police special forces in Koniska, Aitoloacarnania, on July 2 were shot at least 20 times in the head and chest, according to a coroner’s report released on Friday.
The two men were Lika Edison, 25, and his 45-year-old uncle, Flamur Sinani. Edison was one of 11 Albanian inmates to break out of Trikala Prison earlier this year in an escape that his uncle is believed to have helped organize. Sinani had himself been a fugitive since 2006.
According to the coroner’s report, the two men were shot at from distances of between 30 and 50 meters by police firearms.
