Greek communist party opposes attack on Syria

The general secretary of the Greek Communist Party (KKE) met with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras at the Maximos Mansion on Wednesday.

Speaking to members of the press following the meeting Koutsoumbas noted that the party was cagetorically against an attack on Syria.

KKE’s general secretary referred to the Assad regime’s alleged use of chemical weapons in the country’s ongoing civil as a “fairy tale that not even chldren believed in.”

An attack on Syria would lead to major upheaval in the broader region, he said.
