Journalist dies after being hit by vehicle outside former ERT headquarters

Journalist Achilleas Panagoulis died after being hit by a car outside the headquarters of defunct national broadcaster ERT in the area of Aghia Paraskevi, northern Athens, in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to reports, the 38-year-old journalist was crossing Mesogheion Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle.

Born in Larissa in 1974, Panagoulis had been working as a sub-editor at daily Ethnos since 2003.

Aghia Paraskevi traffic police were investigating the fatal accident.
