Suspect arrested for murder of Bangladeshi in 2011
A Bangladeshi man was arrested on Myconos in connection to a dismembered body that was discovered in the Ano Liosia landfill, northwestern Athens, in 2011, police said Friday.
The 29-year-old suspect is alleged to have been part of a group of five men that kidnapped a 27-year-old Bangladeshi in Athens in order to demand a ransom from his family.
Despite being paid the 5,000-euro ransom, the five men murdered their victim and dumped his body at the landfill, where it was found in February 2011. The other four suspects have left the country, police said.
