Ghana national arrested for receiving cocaine by mail
A 37-year-old Ghana national was facing charges over drug possession after being arrested by members of the Financial Crimes Squad, SDOE, at a Hellenic Post branch on Amerikis Square, central Athens, on Monday.
According to police reports, the suspect was arrested while picking up a parcel sent from Brazil containing 143 grams of cocaine.
The drugs were allegedly hidden in a specially-designed compartment inside the metal tubing of a video camera tripod.
The suspect was being sought by Interpol in Argentina after several parcels containing cocaine had been intercepted by Argentinean police.
