Young man in Cyprus is not ‘missing Ben,’ DNA test shows

DNA tests showed that a young man with fair hair and blue eyes seen on Cyprus recently is not Ben Needham, a Briton who went missing in 1991 on Kos at the age of 21 months, Cypriot police said on Tuesday.

The test was carried out after the young man, believed to belong to the local Roma community, came forward voluntarily for a DNA test.

Authorities had launched an investigation after a video surfaced showing the young man at a religious ceremony in a church in Limassol, fueling speculation that it could be Needham due to his resemblance to a computer-generated image of what the Briton would likely look like now.
