Christodoulos meets Simitis
Archbishop Christodoulos (r) visited Prime Minister Costas Simitis in his office yesterday for the first time since his announcement in August of the results of a Church petition calling for a referendum on whether religion should be declared on state identity cards. The occasion was the visit to Athens of Archbishop Anastasios of Albania. The three discussed the situation in Albania, keeping away from contentious issues. The girls’ father, who is working in Germany, was due to arrive back in Greece yesterday. Stoyianni goes on trial today for illegally procuring.
