Flights, public transport to face disruption due to Wednesday’s general strike

There will be no international flights from noon to three p.m. on Wednesday and public transport will be disrupted as workers join a 24-hour general strike called by unions to protest austerity in Greece.

Trolley buses will not operate at all on Wednesday while buses will not run before 9 a.m. or after 9 p.m.

The tram and ISAP electric railway are to run as normal, as is the Athens metro, apart from the section between Doukissis Plakentias and Athens International Airport.

There will be no intercity train, Proastiakos suburban railway or ferry services.

Intercity and Proastiakos trains will also be disrupted on Tuesday, between 9 a.m. and noon.
