Police security tightened amid fears of terrorist hit
The Greek Police has sent out a circular to all departments, calling for tighter security outside police buildings and ordering officers to take greater precautions, Kathimerini understands.
The circular, which was issued a few days after the force received information regarding a likely terrorist hit on a police target, called for “observers” to be stationed at police buildings and advised officers to immediately report suspicious individuals in or around police facilities. Fears increased after the appearance of a new guerrilla group, called Militant Popular Revolutionary Forces, which claimed responsibility for the killing of two members of the neofascist Golden Dawn.
