A 30-year-old police special guard serving in the western Attica region was being questioned Friday on robbery charges.
The suspect is accused of forcing Pakistani immigrants living in Aegaleo and Peristeri, west of central Athens, to hand over money. A 30-year-old Greek and two Pakistani nationals, aged 19 and 21, who are believed to have acted as accomplices, were also arrested.
The 19-year-old was arrested last February along with a police officer from the same police station as the 30-year-old after he was caught demanding money from the Pakistani owners of a grocery store in exchange for protection.
The suspects will plead their case before a prosecutor.
