Police special guard commits suicide after deadly crash
A police special guard killed himself in the northern Athenian suburb of Halandri on Sunday after causing a fatal accident.
According to reports, the 28-year-old officer hit an elderly woman while he was off duty and riding his motorcycle in Halandri at around 6.30 p.m. Investigators believe that he shot himself with his service revolver just a few minutes after discovering that the woman had died of her injuries.
Neither the name of the woman nor of the officer were made public.
