Greek man fails in suicide attempt after shooting girlfriend in face
A 39-year-old man from Ermionida in the Peloponnese who shot his 32-year-old girlfriend in the face before apparently trying to burn himself alive in his car was being treated for serious burns on Thursday while the 32-year-old was hospitalized in Athens for treatment to her injuries.
The 39-year-old was transferred from Nafplio to a specialist unit in Athens later in the day.
The assailant underwent a three-hour operation before being transferred to a plastic surgery unit.
Both were believed to be out of danger.
