Man collared for hoax bomb threat on Thessaloniki-Athens train
A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly making a hoax bomb threat that delayed the Thessaloniki-Athens intercity train for two hours late Tuesday.
The accused made a call to Thessaloniki police claiming that a bomb had been planted on the train.
The train was subsequently stopped for two hours at Plati in Imathia, central Macedonia, as police searched the carriages.
The 28-year-old was arrested in one of the train’s compartments.
It is not known why he made the call.
He was to face a prosecutor in Veria.
