Firemen put out fire at ‘prosfygika’ building in Athens

Three fire engines and their accompanying crews rushed to one of the iconic “Prosfygika” apartment buildings on the capital’s Alexandras Avenue after a fire was reported in one of the apartments on Saturday.

According to reports, two people were removed from the building’s rooftop.

The buildings, constructed in the 1930s to house refugees from Asia Minor, are located next to the Supreme Court.
