Stiff sentence to man who stabbed father and son over parking spot

A 42-year-old Albanian national was handed a sentence of 14 years and 9 months by a Thessaloniki court on Monday for stabbing a father and son over a parking spot in March 2010.

The 42-year-old argued with a 61-year-old man and his 26-year-old son when the latter attempted to park his car in a space earmarked by the 42-year-old for his own use outside the School for the Blind in the northern port city.

As the argument escalated and the three men came to blows, the 42-year-old pulled out a knife and stabbed both father and son several times, injuring them.

The court also handed sentences of 24 and 18 months, respectively, to the father and son over their role in the fight.
