Thessaloniki man escapes second attempt on his life

A 54-year-old man in Thessaloniki survived an assassination attempt on Wednesday when an unknown gunman opened fire at him at the entrance to his apartment building.

The victim is being treated in a local clinic after suffering facial injuries.

Police are investigating the incident, which was the second attempt on the man’s life in the past six months.

In August, unknown attackers hid a hand grenade on the 54-year-old’s motorbike.

The man spotted the device and informed the police, who deactivated it.

The motive or motives for the attacks remain unknown.
