Government spokesman rules out snap poll
Greece’s government spokesman has ruled out the prospect of an early general election.
“[A snap poll] is out of the question. We must complete our work,” Simos Kedikoglou told private Mega television on Thursday.
The coalition was formed after elections in 2012. Leftist SYRIZA opposition has been consistently leading New Democracy coalition leaders in most recent polls.
In the same interview, Kedikoglou said that the government hopes to conclude talks with the troika of foreign inspectors ahead of the Eurogroup meeting on February 17.
