Prime minister aims to galvanize his ND lawmakers
Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is due to address New Democracy’s parliamentary group on Thursday with the aim of lifting some of the gloom surrounding his government.
According to sources, Samaras will attempt to rally his MPs by focusing on the positives, such as the imminent redistribution of 70 percent of Greece’s primary surplus and the creation of a national council to tackle unemployment. The latter was announced on Wednesday, with Samaras saying the new body could provide as many as 440,000 jobless Greeks with some form of employment.
