Samaras to meet Venizelos ahead of troika’s return
Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos will meet on Saturday at 1 p.m. according to reports.
The two men are expected to discuss any outstanding issues ahead of the troika’s return to Athens for the conclusion of the latest review of the Greece’s 240 billion euro bailout program.
Officials from the Troika – who represent the European Commission, the European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – began their review in September, but left Athens in December without reaching a deal on the next round of labour market reforms and spending cuts.
