Talks with troika to resume on Thursday

Troika representatives were expected to resume talks with Greek officials at the Ministry of Finance in Athens on Thursday, the Athens-Macedonia News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras, due back to Athens from Brussels late on Wednesday, noted that while there had been considerable progress in the ongoing negotiations between Greece and its partners and lenders – the European Union, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund – certain issues, such as the size of a Greek primary surplus, remained unresolved.

Both the troika and the government appeared keen for an agreement to be reached so that further rescue funding could be approved next month.
