Appeal by officers convicted in Grigoropoulos murder postponed

An appeal by officers Epaminondas Korkoneas (photo) and Vassilis Saraliotis, convicted for the murder of 15-year-old Alexis Grigoropoulos in Exarchia, central Athens, has been postponed to March 2015. Korkoneas shot the youngster in December 2008.

The decision was reached on Wednesday and was due to a strike called by court employees and prison guards on the same day.

Korkoneas is serving a life sentence after being found quilty of murder with malice afterhought, while Saraliotis, was found guilty of being an accomplice to the murder and was released in October 11.
