Private sector union to hold strike over Sunday labor
The Federation of Private Employees (OIYE) said on Wednesday that its members will go on a 24-hour-strike on Sunday in protest to the opening of retail stores seven Sundays a year.
Employees were expected to participate in a rally at The Mall Athens in Maroussi, northern Athens, at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the federation thousands of employees who worked on Palm Sunday had yet to receive their wages for that day or take a day off in exchange for their services.
