Man arrested over online travel deal scam
A 31-year-old man in the northern port city of Thessaloniki was facing fraud charges for developing an online travel deal scam.
According to initial reports the suspect posted an announcement on a social networking website regarding a supposedly organized trip for two to a European country.
A 23-year-old woman subsequently contacted the suspect online and agreed to pay 900 euros for the deal, a sum which was reportedly forwarded to the suspect via a courrier service. The victim allegedly did not receive tickets in return, whle the suspect was eventually located through his IP address.
