AIR FORCE SABOTEURS: According to an official source, the Army General Staff is to issue a statement regarding a report in the newspaper Voice of Northern Greece on the discovery of a gang of saboteurs in the air force. Athens police chief Mr. Vranopoulos and the governor of the general security force, Mr. Tsaousis, when questioned on the issue, replied that they knew nothing about the matter and had nothing to do with it. SIXTH FLEET: The first contingent of the US Sixth Fleet, led by Admiral Gardner, arrived in Faliron Bay yesterday morning. It consisted of the admiral’s flagship, the cruiser Des Moines, the aircraft carrier Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the cruiser Albany. (…) Around noon the leader of the fleet disembarked in Tourkolimano and went to Athens to visit the prime minister, Mr. Nikolaos Plastiras, who hosted a lunch in his honor.
