Greek healthcare provider threatens to scrap contracts with private clinics
Greece’s main healthcare provider, EOPYY, said on Thursday that it would scrap its contracts with private clinics that refuse to treat patients.
The clinics said that they would not accept new patients from Thursday in protest at EOPYY’s failure to settle its debts and its plans to implement rebate and clawback policies.
EOPYY said that it had settled most of what it owed the clinics up to the end of 2011 and that the rest would soon follow.
