Golden Dawn said to hold military-style drills

Members of Golden Dawn received military-style, outdoor training, according to internal documents of the organization published over the weekend by To Vima newspaper.

The documents appear to contradict claims by members of the neofascist party that the only guns in their possession were, in fact, paintball markers. Also, it emerged that groups were trained by GD members from the local branch of Nikaia that have been implicated in the murder of antifascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas in September 2013.

The documents, which were reportedly discovered on the hard drives of computers confiscated by authorities investigating the party for alleged criminal activities, contain instructions for a “two-day camp” at Neda River in the western Peloponnese.
