HOC gets 4.5-mln-euro ENFIA bill for Panathenaic Stadium

The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) received a notice to pay 4.5 million euros in a new unified property tax (ENFIA) for the Panathenaic Stadium, known as the Kallimarmaro, in central Athens, according to a report in To Vima newspaper on Wednesday.

Authorities calculated the ENFIA for the marble stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were staged in 1896, based on its size and the objective property value as with other properties and sent the bill to the HOC, the report said. Subsequent reports indicated that HOC staff did not fill out the E9 property tax form correctly, resulting in the huge tax bill.
