Truckers call for improvements to road network after deadly crash
A deadly crash in northern Greece last month, in which five people were killed when a truck plowed into dozens of vehicles, as well as a string of smaller incidents, have increased calls from haulers for improvements to the national road work.
The federation of Greek truckers, OFAE, on Monday sent the Infrastructure Ministry a detailed list it has been compiling since February, stressing particular stretches of the network that are in need of repair.
In a related development, a professional driver was in critical condition Monday after flipping his truck on the Athens-Thessaloniki national highway near Platamonas.
