Buildings demolished in the Peloponnese
Authorities demolished 20 illegal buildings on the beaches of Achaia in the Peloponnese over the last few days, it was revealed on Friday.
In some cases the court orders for the demolition had been issued 20 years ago.
The razing of illegal buildings is financed by the Green Fund, which itself receives some of the money homeowners pay to make their properties compliant with building regulations and therefore protected from demolition.
