Public sector union holds work stoppage, demo
Greece’s public sector union ADEDY has called a three-hour work stoppage across Attica, from noon Wednesday, demanding the rehiring of dismissed public sector workers and the abolition of a mobility scheme mandated by the country’s foreign creditors.
The ADEDY protest rally will take place at 1 p.m. in central Klafthmonos Square.
Meanwhile, administrative staff at state universities are to hold a two-day strike Wednesday and Thursday to protest layoffs and forced transfers that they say have left educational institutions unable to function.
