City of Athens announces New Year’s Eve events

The City of Athens on Tuesday announced its plans for the New Year celebrations.

As was the case last year, a concert will be held in Thiseio, central Athens.

A stage will be erected where Apostolou Pavlou and Irakleidon streets meet, near the Thiseio electric railway station.

The municipality’s symphony and philharmonic orchestras will perform, as will pop singer and musician Kostis Maraveyas.

The music will begin at 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, running until 3 a.m. on January 1.

Earlier in the day, there will be various family events at Klafthmonos Square, starting from 11 a.m.
