Oreokastro family was stabbed to death, police says
A 55-year-old man accused of killing a couple and their 12-year-old son in the Thessaloniki suburb of Oreokastro on Friday allegedly used a hunting knife to carry out the murders.
According to the police, the blood-stained weapon was discovered at the scene of the crime. A coroner who examined the bodies of the victims – a 55-year-old man, allegedly the suspect’s brother-in-law, his 43-year-old wife and their son – found that each had been stabbed repeatedly. Police also retrieved an airgun from the crime scene.
Meanwhile, the suspect who sustained injuries after he reportedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping off a balcony was being treated a local hospital under police guard over the weekend.
