Attica trader arrested for selling fake brand-name paint
Financial Police in Attica on Friday seized more than 7 tons of paint from a 51-year-old trader who was passing off generic paint as a brand-name product.
The 51-year-old was arrested after a raid on his shop found evidence that he had been pasting the labels of well-known brands of paint on tins of a lower-quality product and selling it at brand price.
It is believed that he netted nearly 19,000 euros from the scam.
