Second arrest in Evros over animal cruelty
A 26-year-old Bulgarian national has been arrested in Evros, northeastern Greece, over charges of allegedly killing a cat.
The suspect reportedly hit the animal on the head with a piece of wood before throwing the corpse near Tycheros Lake.
This was the second reported case of animal cruelty in the area in less than a week, following the arrest of a 46-year-old man who allegedly placed three puppies in a plastic bag before throwing them in the same lake on January 29.
Two of the puppies survived after being rescued by passersby.
