Municipal workers to walk off the job in protest at council charges

The union representing municipal staff, POE-OTA, called for its members in the Attica region to walk off the job from 11.30 a.m. until the end of morning shift on Friday, in protest at criminal charges brought against members of the union’s general council.

The union also called for a protest rally to be held outside the Athens court complex on Evelpidon Street at noon on the same day.

All of the members of OPE-OTA’s general council are facing charges over a series of rolling strikes in October 2011.
